Jorge Patino

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jorge "Macaco" Patino (b. May 8, 1973) is a Brazilian vale tudo fighter whose career began in the 1990's. His style is focused around his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills. He is best remembered for his two epic vale tudo fights with Jose "Pele" Landi-Jons. Although he lost both fights, the pace and brutality of the fights gained both fighters fans around the world, during MMA's vale tudo style beginning years. Ironically, Patino now fights out of the same gym, the Chute Boxe Academy, that Landi-Jons used to belong to. But now both Jose "Pele" Landi-Jons and Jorge "Macaco" Patino have fallen into obscurity in the MMA world, due to their inactivity in any of the higher quality MMA organizations.
