[edit] Mixed Martial Arts
Masvidal's most high profile victory came in the main event of the Absolute Fighting Championships XXII event held on April 30th, 2005. The fight was against current UFC competitor and The Ultimate Fighter 5 contestant Joe Lauzon, who came in undefeated at eight wins and no losses with all eight wins by way of submission. Jorge won via Technical Knock Out in the second round with a flurry of punches.
Recently Jorge has garnered impressive 3-0 record in the Bodog Fight promotion, including decision victories over Keith Wisniewski, Steve Berger, and a head kick knockout over respected PRIDE Fighting Championships and UFC veteran Yves Edwards.
[edit] Boxing
Masvidal's professional boxing debut took place on June 8th, 2005. He defeated Joseph Benjamin (1-11-2) at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel in Miami, FL. The victory came via Majority Decision after 4 rounds and he hasn't competed in Boxing again since.
[edit] Street Fights
Masvidal had made a name for himself locally in Miami after participating in two boxing street fights that became popular on the internet. The videos feature him competing against Kimbo Slice's protégé "Ray". Jorge comes into the fights as the smaller man, with a weight and height disadvantage, but thoroughly picks apart his bigger opponent with lightning fast combinations and body shots that finish Ray during both encounters. After the second match, Jorge acquiesces to a third fight even though he has decisively won all previous encounters.
