Jordanian People

The Jordanian people (Arabic: اردني) are the citizens of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. As of 2007, there were around 3,500,000 native Jordanians out of the 6,000,000 inhabitants of Jordan and approximately 1,000,000 abroad in places like the Arab Gulf States of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE and Oman. Other countries include the United States, Canada, Australia(2,687 of Jordanian decent) and Western Europe like the United Kingdom (10,000 of Jordanian decent). Most Jordanian Arabs trace their origins to Nomadic tribes that inhabited the deserts and belong to tribes which make up several families. The main language is Arabic and the main religions are Islam and Christianity.
