Jordanhill is a mostly middle-class area of the West End of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It consists largely of substantial terraced housing dating from the early 20th century, with some detached and semi-detached homes as well as local authority flats.

The area was home to the Jordanhill Teacher Training College, which subsequently became part of the University of Strathclyde.[citation needed]

Jordanhill is served by Jordanhill railway station offering regular services to central Glasgow on the North Clyde and Argyle lines.

[edit] Schools

Jordanhill School is a local comprehensive school which regularly ranks amongst the top-performing state secondary schools in Scotland. The school is unique in the Scottish state sector, both in that it is an all-through school, with both Primary and Secondary departments, providing education for children from 4 to 18, and in that it has Grant Maintained status and is independent from local government control.[citation needed]

The area is also home to another secondary school: Saint Thomas Aquinas Secondary School. The school is home to pupils who have left several local primary schools such as: Corpus Christi Knightswood, Notre Dame West End, St Pauls Whiteinch, St Peters Partick, St Brendans Yoker, St Patricks in Anderston, St Clare's Drumchapel and St Ninians in Blairdardie.
