Jordan S. Rubin is an author of books relating to his diet known as The Maker's Diet. He also is the founder of the company Garden of Life which sells products related to his diet. Rubin wrote his book after suffering from Crohn's Disease. He and his wife Nicki currently reside in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Rubin may be Jewish in ethnicity, but is a christian. During his adolescent years, Rubin suffered from severe Crohn's Disease. He overcame the illness by what he now refers to as the Maker's Diet, a diet regimen based on Judeo-Christian dietary guidelines.

Rubin attended Peoples University of the Americas School of Natural Medicine (a non-accredited school with no campus) where he earned the designation of Naturopathic Medicine. He also earned a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the Academy of Natural Therapies (a non-accredited correspondence school that the State of Hawaii ordered to close). Rubin attended Florida State University for his undergraduate studies, but did not complete a degree due to severe health complications.
