[edit] Playing Career

Robertson was born in Sheffield and joined Sheffield United as a trainee but has yet to appear for the Sheffield United first team.

On November 6 2006, he joined Torquay United on a one-month loan deal.[1] He made his league debut for Torquay on November 18, 2006, replacing Mickey Evans late on in the home defeat against Swindon Town.[2] He scored his first league goal the following week in a 5-2 defeat away to Peterborough United.[3] It had looked likely that he would extend his loan for a third month, but he returned to Bramall Lane after Torquay's 1-0 defeat away to Bristol Rovers.

On January 26, 2007 he joined Northampton Town on loan for the remainder of the season. [4] Robertson scored on his debut against Oldham Athletic.[5] and went on to play fifteen times whilst on laon at the Sixfields Stadium.

In August 2007, a loan move to Dundee United was agreed, although there was initial confusion over whether it was until January[6] or May.[7]. It was later confirmed that Robertson is on loan for the duration of the season but Sheffield United can recall him in January if desired.[8] Robertson scored on his Dundee United debut with a late winner in the League Cup match against Ross County.[9] Robertson managed four goals during his short time on Tayside before his recall in mid-January 2008.[10]

In February 2008, Robertson undertook a one-month loan deal with Oldham Athletic.[11] Robertson picked up an ankle injury in a game against Rochdale which would rule him out for much of the remainder of the season and so returned to Bramall Lane early having played only three games and scored one goal for Oldham.[12]
