[edit] August 2007

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. IamMarkBlake 05:06, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. E dog95 06:10, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: Jonathan B. Lerner

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Jonathan B. Lerner meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jonathan B. Lerner. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. SiobhanHansa 19:54, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I saw your comment on the article talk page. I'm glad you're not Mr Lerner, as I have seen how frustrating and uncomfortable wikipedia can be for people who write their own biographies. The basis of the deletion was not that the article was self-promotional (I used the word auto-biographical in the debate summary which, while strongly discouraged, is not sufficient reason for deletion of an otherwise good article), but that Lerner is not notable enough for Wikipedia. I searched Google again with your recommended wording but still didn't find anything that I would consider sufficient for an encyclopedia subject. In fact in the first three pages of results the only hits that looked like they might be about this person were the Wikipedia article and a donor listing for Bach Aria Soloists. If you can produce suitable sources, list them here and I'll help you write an appropriate article that should stand up to this sort of evaluation. I think it's most likely that Lerner isn't yet suitable for an article. But we can create an article after he has achieved some of the fame you are anticipating. Deletion of the article now doesn't mean it can't be recreated when there is sufficient verification of his impact on the world. -- SiobhanHansa 21:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I just wanted to thank SiobhanHansa for her last comment. I can understand where you're coming from and I appreciate your help and understanding. Jonlerne 17:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Choraliers.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Choraliers.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:06, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:JBlueMoon.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Blue moon.jpg. The copy called Image:Blue moon.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 09:00, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
