Hi, I'm Jonathan Cardy and I started editing Wikipedia articles in 2007, I live in Teddington and most of my edits are either based on local knowledge and research or my past participation as a volunteer on a couple of archaeological digs (I have a small collection of books on Easter Island).

I also have been known to fix typos, (ablum, ablity, avalaible, bieng, becuase, sucess and webiste have been particular hunting grounds of mine) and add or correct links to chance articles as I come across them.

In 2008 I've moved on to easily confused words that cause errors that spellcheckers cannot pick up. Cavalry/Calvary was a good hunting ground, as was Thier/Their, and Formally/Formerly. Then I searched for "posses " and found 603 circa 90% of them errors. A few were typos of poses but the vast majority of posses were typos of possess not the plural of posse!

I speak and write in English, and have a fairly good understanding of American English. I usually use a Linux PC with an English Wordprocessor - so American English spellings tend to get highlighted along with typos, (though sometimes it's the English variant that the spellchecker doesn't like) so if you are here because I've changed the spelling of something that's correct in American English, and its not in an article that you'd expect to be in English then please put a note in my talk page and help me improve my knowledge of American English.
