THE FORBIDDEN 5 is a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based garage rock-styled band.

[edit] History

Although preceded by a less stable membership, the current incarnation of The Forbidden 5 was formed in 2004. They have performed steadily since then, and have gained a small but wildly dedicated following at their shows.

To date, an official album of material has not been released, although numerous EP-style giveaways have been distributed as promotional material. A full CD is rumored to be in development for release in 2007.

Imagery in the majority of songs performed by the band (as well as frequent promotional materials and costumes) has been derived from horror, science-fiction and monster-related films and songs from the 1950's - 1980's. As such, their music could arguably be classified as monster-rock, although similarities of style can be found to classic garage-rock bands suck as Link Wray.

The Forbidden 5 has performed live at numerous venues across the Pittsburgh region and beyond. Venues of note include:
The 31st Street Pub
Excuses

In 2006, The Forbidden 5 made three non-consecutive appearances on the local cult-movie show IT'S ALIVE!
