Talk:Jon Bogdanove
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I don't have my collection at hand and I can't add anything solid to this page right now, but if it helps in any way, I'm coming from Rob Liefeld's Wikipedia entry and that guy reminded of the only other comics "artist" I really hated more than RL himself. Jon Bogdanove was the man.
His proportions were often even more ridiculous than Liefeld's; the very faces of established characters, like Superman himself, used to change drastically from one panel to another, to another; sometimes, he would "draw" only lines, not shapes and forms, to disguise his possible inability or laziness. I believe this guy was given too much time when he was hired, because he proved he couldn't draw from the beginning. I can't understand why that happened.
I've been away from comics for some time and came back 3 years ago. I have no idea where this guy has been into, but I don't hear from him anymore. I hope he's happy selling hot dogs on the streets or painting suburban houses, I don't know.
There's just one thing I'd like to add. I remember I have a copy of an import "Death of Superman" special issue of some sort, and it has a gray cover like a grave, filled with autographs by a lot of artists involved in the plot. Everybody respected the central "S", until this guy came and tainted it with a big black, enormous "BOG" over it. I felt like returning the issue just for that, but kept it. His action in that, alone, should speak volumes about the guy and about how he should be as hated as Liefeld... [Rod, from Brazil, 18-June-2005 - Edited for spelling and grammar]
