José Jonny Magallón Oliva (born November 21, 1981 in Ocotlán, Jalisco) is a Mexican Football player currently playing with Club Deportivo Guadalajara as a Defender.

He made his debut with Chivas on March 13, 2005 against arch rival Club América which ended tied 3-3. Jonny plays as a Right Back with Chivas, replacing fellow Ocotlán native Carlos Salcido, now playing for PSV Eindhoven.

It was announced that PSV Eindhoven is interested in Magallón for their defense as well as Scottish giants Celtic FC as well as Atletico de Madrid wish to have him next season.

On January 18, 2007 he received his first call up to the Mexican National Team, and he played his first game with the Mexican National Team on February 28, 2007. He was the player with the most Minutes at the 2007 Gold Cup and 2007 Copa America. On February 7, he was the hero of the Mexican side in the 2-2 Mexico USA in a sold out stadium in Houston, scoring both of his side's goals. He has been considered as one of the most trusted players that play for the Mexican National Team.[citation needed] Magallon has been a vital piece for the Mexican National Team. In the 2007 Gold Cup, he enjoyed playing in the defence along Ricardo Osorio, Carlos Salcido, and Rafael Marquez. In the 2007 Copa America, he played very well except in a match against Argentina, where Jonny was switched positions for less-than-10-caps, Israel Castro. Mexico lost the game, 3-1. In the 2007 Copa America finals for 3rd place, Jonny as well as Rafael Márquez, led the Mexican defense and won 3rd place againts Uruguay. In a friendly against Argentina that took place on June 4, 2008 in San Diego, California, he blocked Kun Aguero's first shot. Ricardo Osorio was marking Kun but came out through the flanks, and shot past Oswaldo Sanchez, but somehow Jonny was in the correct position and blocked Kun's shot with his head. Mexico lost, 4-1.
