Joni Eareckson Tada (born October 15, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American Christian author, artist, and disability advocate. Tada is founder and CEO of Joni and Friends, an "organization accelerating Christian ministry in the disability community". She is the author of numerous Christian books, including Gold Medallion Book Award winner Pearls of Great Price[1], bestsellers The God I Love[2] and You’ve Got a Friend,[3] and an autobiography entitled Joni, which was later made into a film (1980) in which she played herself. Around this time, Joni also recorded two acclaimed LP albums; 'Joni's Song' (1981) and 'Spirit Wings' (1982), the first of several musical projects. Tada has a daily radio program.
