Jonathon Shier

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jonathon Shier was Managing Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from 2000 to 2002. He resigned from this post 2 years into his 5 year contract after allegations of political bias, and "stacking" senior positions within the corporation with personal acquaintances connected with the Liberal Party. His management style led to him being described in the press as a "limousine-driven disaster" and many of his program-cutting policies, his management style and 'revolving door' hirings and firings led to a number of strikes and industrial action by ABC staff.
