Jonathan Sexton born 11 July 1985 in Ireland is a rugby union player for Leinster Rugby in the Magners League.

He is also contracted to St. Mary's College RFC who play in AIB League Division 1.

Jonathan Sexton's position of choice is as a Fly-half.

He was selected as part of the Ireland squad for the 2008 Six Nations Championship but sustained a fractured thumb shortly beforehand playing for Leinster. [1]

He attended St. Marys college in Dublin and scored a drop goal in the dying moments of St. Marys' 2002 Leinster Senior Cup final win.

He has received a lot of playing time this season for Leinster due to Gordon D'arcy's injury. On a number of occasions Felipe Contepomi was switched to inside centre leaving the fly half spot open for Sexton. He has impressed and was part of their Magner's League winning side in 2008
