Jonathan Santana Ghere is an Argentine-Paraguayan football midfielder. He was born on October 19, 1981, in the Capital Federal district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He currently plays for VfL Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga in Germany.
Santana started his career at San Telmo of the Argentine 3rd Division. He went on to play for a number of Argentine Primera clubs, including San Lorenzo and River Plate. In August 2006 he signed a 5 year contract with Wolfsburg.
In June of 2007, Santana received Paraguayan citizenship (his mother is a Paraguayan citizen). He played for Paraguay in Copa América 2007.
