Jonathan Michael Murphy (born on August 3, 1981) is an American actor. Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, he began acting in high school theater productions before moving on to community theater after college. He currently stars on the ABC television series October Road as Ronnie Garrett. He will join the cast of Wildfire as Calvin Handley in Season 4.

Jonathan Michael Murphy was born and raised in Arlington, Texas in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. It wasn't until high school that he began performing in shows. He began acting in his high school drama department then went on to performing at community theatres after graduation. He performed in Ft. Worth's Famous Casa Manana Theatre among various other theatres in the greater Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. At the age of 20, he participated in the Model and Talent Search of Texas, where he met, former manager, Craig Wargo. He was currently attending Texas Christian University but two weeks later he moved Los Angeles and has remained ever since.


Jonathan has a Texas tattoo on his right ankle.

Jonathan's father is a fire chief, as a result, they have a fire pole in their house.

Jonathan worked in conjunction with such charities as the Frank Sinatra Foundation, the American Red Cross and Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure.

Jonathan is a member of co-founder Noah Wylie's Blank Theatre Company in Los Angeles
