Jonathan Maidana is an Argentine football central defender. He was born on July 29, 1985, in the city of Adrogué in the Buenos Aires Province of Argentina. He currently plays for Boca Juniors of the Primera Division Argentina.
Maidana made his debut for Boca with a 9 minute substitute appearance in a 2-2 draw with São Paulo Futebol Clube in the Recopa Sudamericana 2006.
Maidana has represented the Argentina national football team at Under-20 level. In 2008 Maidana made his debut for Argentina's Under-23 Olympic preperation team against Guatamala in 2008 and scored in a 5-0 victory. Maidana is seen as a key central defender for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
