Jonathan Lindley

Jonathan Lindley (1756 - 1828) is one of the original settlers of Orange County, Indiana.

Lindey was born near Philadelphia on June 15, 1756. He later became a member of North Carolina state legislature in 1786. In 1814, he became an Indiana territorial court judge and a member of Indiana House of Representatives from 1816 to 1817. He founded Terre Haute, Indiana. He died in Orange County, Indiana on April 5, 1828. Interment at Old Lick Creek Quaker Cemetery, Chambersburg, Ind.
