Jonathan Harvey (congressman)

Jonathan Harvey (February 25, 1780 - August 23, 1859) was a U.S. Representative from New Hampshire, brother of Matthew Harvey.
Born in Sutton, New Hampshire, Harvey attended the common schools and engaged in agricultural pursuits. He served as member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, 1811-1816, 1831-1834, and 1838-1840. He served in the New Hampshire Senate, 1816-1823, and was president of that body, 1817-1823. He was a member of the Executive Council of New Hampshire, 1823-1825.
Harvey was elected as a Jacksonian to the Nineteenth, Twentieth, and Twenty-first Congresses (March 4, 1825-March 3, 1831). He was not a candidate for renomination in 1830. He retired to his farm at North Sutton, New Hampshire, where he died on August 23, 1859. He was interred in North Sutton Cemetery.
