Jonathan Ball

Jonathan Augustus Benjamin Ball, born 1951, is a South African publisher.

He is currently Managing Director of Jonathan Ball Publishers. He first published Super Afrikaners in 1976, a book dealing with the Broeder Bond - a secret organisation that supported Afrikaner Nationalism and Apartheid.

Other major books to come out of Jonathan Ball Publishers include The Boer War 1979 (by Thomas Pakenham) and The Scramble For Africa.

Jonathan Ball Publishers has the following mission statement: "To publish books about South Africa which enlighten and entertain. Books of a liberal sanity which pander to neither left nor right nor to clever contemporary fashions in thinking."
