Jonas Dubauskas (1904 - 1994) was a Lithuanian engineer and architect. The main buildings constructed according to his design are Lithuania's Central Bank branch offices in Panevėžys, Kretinga, Utena, Mažeikiai and Tauragė.
Jonas Dubauskas was an intellectual of interbellum Lithuania. He graduated from Technical College of Applied Sciences and later from the Vytautas Magnus University. He started his professional career during studies and worked on railway bridges' construction. He worked at the Central Bank of Lithuania as the head of the constructional department until the second Soviet occupation of Lithuania in 1945. However he was sent to the GULAG camp in 1945. There he worked as an architect in hostile conditions. They constructed barracks for the new camps near the Balkhash Lake in Kazakhstan. The concentration camp premises were built following the Nazis' camp schemes seized by Soviets during the World War II. He managed to remain alive because of his knowledge of German language and European quality construction.
