Jonathan Charles Toogood (born in Wellington, New Zealand, on August 9, 1971) is a member of the New Zealand band Shihad. He is the songwriter, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist.
He formed the band in 1988 with fellow Wellingtonian and Wellington High School student, Tom Larkin. Toogood and Larkin met as teenage AC/DC fans. Larkin and fellow band members Phil Knight and Karl Kippenberger reside in Melbourne, Australia, however Toogood lives back in his home town, Wellington, New Zealand, with his wife and stepdaughter. With the remaining members of Shihad still resident in Melbourne, Toogood often finds himself travelling to Melbourne, and away from home anything up to 6 months of the year. Jon plays classic 1970s Fender Telecaster Deluxe and Maton Mastersound guitars.
