Jon Paul Piques

Jon Paul Piques is a Canadian soccer player (footballer). He is currently signed with the Montreal Impact.

Piques played 3 years in Portugal. When he was 16 he signed with Sporting Lisbon (youth teams) and played there for one season. At 18 years of age he went back to Portugal to play with Desportivo de Beja, a 3rd division squad, and was their starting goalie for one season. At 19 he signed with Sporting Braga (1st division Superliga) in Portugal and was their 3rd string goalkeeper and started 15 games on the reserve team.

Piques then had a brief stint with Toronto FC where he was released from training camp just before their 2nd trip to Florida and was without a team. The Montreal Impact then signed Jon Paul at 21 years old on July 29th 2007 after starting goalkeeper Matt Jordan suffered a broken Jaw. He did not start any games for the Impact but played with the reserve team the Trois-Rivières Attak for the remainder of the season.
