Jon Nese

Dr. Jon Nese, born in Steubenville, Ohio, is a senior lecturer at Penn State University. He holds a B.S. (1983), an M.S. (1985), and a Ph.D. (1989) in meteorology, all from Penn State. He has been a professor at the university first from 1989–1998, and then from 2005 to the present.

He also spent time as the chief meteorologist of the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, and as a commentator with The Weather Channel. In addition to his professional career, he has written two books: The Philadelphia Area Weather Book and A World of Weather: Fundamentals of Meteorology.

Nese has three children and is a consistent attendee of many Penn State sporting events, in particular football, basketball, and volleyball.
