Jon Mattox

Jon Mattox is an American multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, and record producer from Southern California. He has been a session musician playing drums for a large variety of artists and bands including recordings or performances with The Young Dubliners, Joan Osborne, Days Between Stations, Nels Cline, Mike Watt, Young MC, Freebo, Lee Sklar, Geza X, Doug Pettibone, John Fumo, Shelby Lynne and many others.

Mattox owns Bright Orange Studios which is a high end recording studio and music production facility, and also is president of Bright Orange Records which has released music from the following artists: Alpha Cat, Darryl Blood, The Conductors, Brian Cram, Days Between Stations, Simon Lynge, Jim Marcotte, Jon Mattox, One Trick Pony, Sue Paine, Jason Quicksall, 7K, Heather Stewart, Uni, Jason Whitton, Erinn Williams, Sterling Witt, and The Young Dubliners.

In 2007, Mattox scored the feature film "Young Single, & Angry", and also did the music supervision.

He has licensed his music for the following major movie trailers: Death Race (film), 21 (2008 film), National Treasure: Book Of Secrets, No Country for Old Men (film), Beowulf (2007 film), Hostel 2, Déjà Vu (film), The Legend of Zorro, Outlaw (2007 film), XXX State of the Union, Domino (film), Catch a Fire (film), Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (film).

He has also licenesd music for television promos and advertising including The Closer, Turner Network Television, TAG Heuer, & Vogue (magazine).

Mattox has endorsement contracts with Istanbul Agop Cymbals, Aquarian Accessories, Factory Metal Percussion, and Rhythmtech percussion.
