Jon Leland

In the early 1970's, Jon Leland started one of the first narrowcast (target-audience focused) radio networks, Unicorn News.
In the early 1980's, he was the founding director of creative services at cable TV's USA Network.
In 1985, Leland started his own company, The Leland Company in New York City, branching out from entertainment promotion videos into the corporate or industrial video market by doing work for Xerox, New York Telephone and others.
Leland moved back to his native California in 1990 and changed the name of his company to Communication Bridges because of his passion of creating "communication bridges that span the Grand Canyon Gap between people and technology." This company name was later shortened to ComBridges to match the company's website URL: [1]. In California, Leland did work for Autodesk and Pacific Bell while also creating an interactive TV prototype for Oracle Corporation that ran at Disney World.
He also became an evangelist for the emerging digital video platforms, both as a contributing editor to Videography magazine and producing sponsored videos about new video technologies including "The Digital Video-Video."
Since that time, Leland's work has focused on the web and ComBridges has become a custom web design and internet marketing company that also does Flash & video productions as well as database-driven online applications.
Most recently, Leland has been focusing on keynote speaking and has published an ebook, "EBiz Express: What Every Business Should Know About Internet Marketing."
