Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver is an American professional mixed martial artist. He was recently a fighter on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra, fighting on Team Serra. Koppenhaver was not part of the original sixteen fighters initially picked for the show.[1] He was brought in as a replacement when Roman Mitichyan broke his elbow during evaluations and was sent home.

While on The Ultimate Fighter, Koppenhaver was defeated in his only bout at the competition via decision against Tommy Speer.[2] Koppenhaver rebounded in his official UFC debut by defeating Jared Rollins in The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra finale show via TKO at 2:01 of the third round. Kopenhaver's latest fight was at UFC 84 against Yoshiyuki Yoshidain which he lost via submission in the first round.[3]

Koppenhaver talked about the loss of his father to a heart attack on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra. Koppenhaver's father had a massive heart attack when he was 13, Koppenhaver performed CPR on his father, but ultimately his father passed away as a result of the heart attack.
Koppenhaver was found guilty of choking a Las Vegas man unconscious and hitting him in the face, an incident that occurred September 2.[4] In February 2008 Koppenhaver was sentenced to three years of probation and 30 days of community service, avoiding the possible felony charge and accompanying prison time he was facing.[4]
