Jon Gibson (minimalist musician)

Jon Gibson (b. March 11, 1940; Los Angeles, California) is a flautist, saxophonist, and composer who uses other instruments from around the world in his performances and is known for his jazz and classical contributions. He was a founding member and longtime performer with the Philip Glass Ensemble for many years, and also performed in the premiers of In C by Terry Riley, and Drumming by Steve Reich. He has also performed and recorded with a number of other minimalist composers, and is an accomplished visual artist.
