[edit] Early life

Jon Franks was born (June 16, 1988) and raised in the Yorkshire Dales, which explains his accent derivative of the York region. At the age of 8, his family moved to Lanzarote, but returned a couple of years later.

[edit] Television career

After stints as a fitness instructor, car washer, and hotel employee, he was discovered by MTV UK in late 2006 and asked to host its afternoon extravaganza, FYI.

Franks co-hosted FYI with Louis Bhose. The first edition of FYI aired on Monday February 12 2007, featuring programmes like Laguna Beach, My Super Sweet 16 and Made. On FYI, Franks had the pleasure of interviewing big stars and personal heroes Hanson, JoJo, and Ne-Yo. He is the only MTV UK presenter to have sung the chorus of “Hero” to Enrique Iglesias on camera.

FYI was “rested” on Friday July 20, 2007. It featured the same episode of Made that aired in the first edition.

Franks’s dream is to run a successful British bar in Lanzarote.

He is currently planning The Franksie Party Bus, York’s first nightclub-on-wheels. Honk if you see him, and he’ll give you the legendary Franksie Finger.

[edit] Trivia

  • “Jon Franks In A Wig” was a frequent possible answer to many of FYI’s competition questions, including “Who played Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films?”
