Hon Jon R Ford JP MLC is a current Australian Labor Party MP serving the role of Minister for Fisheries, the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne in Western Australia. He is the current Member for the Mining and Pastoral Region.

During his time in parliament he has held the positions of Deputy Chairman of Committees, Chairman of standing Committee on Legislation, and a Member of the Select Committee on the Reserves.

He moved to Western Australia in the 1980s to work in the mining and gas industry in the North of Western Australia. In 1990, he joined the Australian Labor Party, where he was elected as the MLC for the Mining and Pastoral Region on February 10, 2001.
