[edit] Evil Dead Series

Hello, welcome, all that good stuff. I like what you're doing with the Evil Dead series - good idea! Aguerriero (talk) 15:12, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Is there a reason you are removing bullets from the Trivia section, because you are not supplying one. Bignole 16:15, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
I moved the ones I removed to Evil Dead series, as they were ones that weren't specifically related to The Evil Dead but more to the series in general Joltman 16:17, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, ok...that's cool. Bignole 17:20, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pipes!

Pardon me if you already know this: Generally when linking to an article with context in parentheses - such as Thank You (Stone Temple Pilots album) - you will want to hide the contents of the parentheses. Use pipes to hide it, or to create other custom links. Create the link like so: [[Page title|display title]]. For the previous example, it should display as Thank You. Edit this page to see how it looks. - BalthCat 01:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:BouncingSouls-BouncingSouls.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:BouncingSouls-BouncingSouls.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 12:00, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox suggestion.

Did you remove your "Longtype" proposal from the Album Wikiproject talk page? It was there for a moment, but was gone by the time I was ready to reply.

At any rate, I support the idea. Having the field being optional is vital. --Cheers, Folajimi (leave a note) 13:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Uhhh...no, actually I didn't. For some reason Lajbi did. Joltman 15:19, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I dunno what happened. Chappy84 also left me a message that I could't understand. I've just left a comment, which somehow overwrote the previous ones (yours and Chappy's). I guess we edited the page exactly at the same time. Lajbi Holla @ meWho's the boss? 17:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tenacious D

What's your problem with the D? You keep trying to delete all my articles. You went after the tour and now you are trying to get rid of the album tracks. I suspect bias here.

I'm probably wrong, but I feel you are going after these articles, because you dislike Tenacious D.

How can I prove notability?

Tenacious D Fans 21:32, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't logged in

Tenacious D Fans 21:32, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I do like Tenacious D believe it or not, that's the only way I even find these articles. The problem isn't bias or the articles you're creating per se, it's just that the things you are making articles for don't fit into what Wikipedia is for. It's not for any possible information that you can put in it, it's for things that fit their scope of notability, which these articles aren't. If you were to get a Tenacious D wiki going, these would be perfect for that, but they aren't notable enough for the Wikipedia. Joltman 23:56, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Dude, I know I am wrong. The stuff I submitted was pretty lame. Don't take what I said seriously. You're doing a good job. As far a D wiki is concerned, this is not probable. There isn't enough drive from other users to boost the D page, so I don't think a wiki is viable. Please accept my apologies and keep up the good work. Tenacious D Fans 20:46, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:My Name Is Earl title screen.jpg

Hello, Joltman. An automated process has found and will an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that is in your userspace. The image (Image:My Name Is Earl title screen.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Joltman/TV/Test. This image or media will be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. This does not necessarily mean that the image is being deleted, or that the image is being removed from other pages. It is only being removed from the page mentioned above. All mainspace instances of this image will not be affected Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:TenaciousDInThePickOfDestinySoundtrack.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:TenaciousDInThePickOfDestinySoundtrack.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Goldrecord.jpg

I have tagged Image:Goldrecord.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 02:40, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox external links section & article one

Regarding your cancellation of my contribution (clean-up) to the Masters of Science Fiction article. That looks like the official site to me. No, the official website is at http://www.mastersofscifi.com. That's why I consider duplicating contents as a bad editing practice, because it makes harder to update articles. Infobox is just for a quick glimpse, the info can still be in other places in the article. What's the point of duplicating contents accross the article when it could in one place, the infobox ? It just clutters the encyclopedia with useless links. The infobox has a External links section so what's the point of referencing the official website, IMDb profile and TV.com summary both in the infobox and in the External links section ? I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong, I'm just trying to understand why you think articles should have two External links sections instead of one. What are the benefits for the readers ? I see none for the editors. Last but not least, I can't wait for the first MoSF episode to air ! --Goa103 12:47, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please be more careful!

Please be more careful when you move pages around on Wikipedia! You can't move one page to an incorrectly spelled page and then move it again to the correctly spelled page (like you did with season 3 of Hell's Kitchen, the one with 'US' in the title). Doing this causes the entire article and its history to be on the misspelled page and a redirect to the misspelled page to be on the correctly spelled page (because you moved a redirect on the original page rather than a full article). That was wordy. In a nutshell, you sent a good article to the wrong page and a redirect to the right page.

Since the page that is spelled correctly already exists (because of a sloppy move), the misspelled page cannot be moved without an administrator's intervention (which means it can take a long time to fix and is much more complicated than it needs to be). Please be more careful about moving pages in the future and don't make a knee-jerk reaction if you mess up. This whole problem could have been avoided if you had taken your time and thoroughly thought about how the moves might affect other pages. Also, always remember that people are willing to help you out here. If you aren't sure what might happen if you do something, get help. --132 13:37, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

By the way, thank you for at least taking this to the requested moves page (I just looked at your contribution page). I'm glad you at least caught the error and tried to get help. --132 13:54, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
What happened was I put in 'seasson 3' and noticed right after I hit the submit button that I made a typo. I then hit stop before mt browser even left the page. I then changed it to 'season 3' and submit again. I didn't realize until afterwards that it had already moved it to seasson 3. -Joltman 14:15, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:BrassTacksRecords.jpg

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:BrassTacksRecords.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dkm.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dkm.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:30, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Well... not exactly a society, but I've noticed for months how you've been combating silly edits and basically keeping articles as neutral as possible. [edit] Re: Disambig in titles (EP vs album)

I chose to do this because Night of the Living Dead (album) was confusing to me. If I wanted information on The Misfits album, I'd have to know that it was an EP. Besides, this is what the Album naming guidelines say: "For multiple albums with the same title, use the artist name to distinguish the different albums." This is also all I've ever seen done to differentiate between them; the use of ... (EP) is rare. -- H3xx (t|c) 16:49, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Punk-O-Rama 1.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Punk-O-Rama 1.jpg.

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.--Rockfang (talk) 12:54, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:BouncingSouls-HopelessRomantic.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:BouncingSouls-HopelessRomantic.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 19:39, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:LocalH-12AngryMonths.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:LocalH-12AngryMonths.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 13:42, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
