[edit] prison in the Blues Brothers movie
Was the prison in the Blues Brothers movie, Joliet or Statesville? Rmhermen 16:35 28 Jul 2003 (UTC)
- Joliet
- Statesville in Blues Brothers 2000 02:44, 12 December 2005 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joe The Dragon (talk • contribs)
- Joliet was the site where "Blues Brothers" was filmed, long before the prison closed. Stateville is the prison where scenes from "Natural Born Killers" were filmed. Joliet and Stateville look somewhat alike in certain scenes and photos because both are built of native Illinois limestone. However, they are several miles apart. One is not inside the other. I worked at both facilities. -- LisaSmall T/C 04:37, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Annual budget
The text of this article states that the annual budget in 2000 was 333.8 million dollars with a population of 1,300. This works out to 256,769 dollars per inmate per year, which seems way out of line compared to other prison articles which cite budgets, such as Stateville Correctional Center ($33,000/inmate/year). I can't find any references to these numbers on the Ill. Department of Corrections site [1]. Does anyone have any idea where these numbers came from, and where I might be able to verify them? Thanks--69.157.104.121 23:18, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, further checking shows here [2] that the total DOC budget in 2000 was $1,122,815,500... which would have made Joliet almost 30% of the budget with per capita costs hundred times more than others... I'm gonna take out the numbers in the article since they don't appear to be accurate. --69.157.104.121 23:22, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Stateville Prison
I just made the Stateville Prison wikisite, according to comments above, this is not the same prison. Travb (talk) 20:00, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] John Wayne Gacy
I just removed half a sentence claiming that "John Wayne Gacey" was housed at Stateville, rather than Joliet, on the grounds that if whoever added it couldn't get the name right, their facts were probably wrong too. It certainly contradicts the Prison Break article, which claims that parts of the show were shot in Gacy's cell at Joliet. Fact-checkers? --Quuxplusone 00:36, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- As far as I know, Gacy was executed at Stateville (as his own article says), which as I recall was where Illinois' death house was/is. Further research might be needed. Wahkeenah 00:54, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
hej, sorry for not knowing how to change stuff here, but there is a spelling mistake in this page: Peotry instead of Poetry. could someone change that? :) I have found it in two places, maybe there's more.
