Hi! My name is Andrea James.
I am a writer and activist based in Los Angeles. I also run a production company called Deep Stealth Productions with my friend Calpernia Addams.
My interests on Wikipedia include issues related to film and literature, scientific methodology, consumer fraud and medical quackery, skeptical inquiry, hoaxes, gender, hair removal, humor, and probably several other things since I wrote this. Though I realize the irony of having one in my own user page, I hate seeing a red link in an article, so I usually click on it and start an entry if I can find enough information. I've made over 14,000 edits and started over 900 articles, many of them biographies. I used to enjoy working on controversial biographies of living people that require detailed attribution, but I have decided that's a waste of time and now work mainly on creating requested biographies.
In 2007 I directed a short film called "Casting Pearls," which Logo named a winner of Season 4 of The Click List: Best in Short Film. You can watch and rate it free online if you are interested. In 2008 I was involved with Transamerican Love Story, a competitive dating series. I was a consulting producer and have an on-camera role in the premiere season. You can learn more on the official site. Before that, I coached Felicity Huffman for her role in Transamerica and appear at the very beginning of the film. I am also in the HBO documentary Middle Sexes and a Logo documentary about our involvement in V-Day with Eve Ensler and Jane Fonda called Beautiful Daughters. I also run several websites on consumer issues, and I am a proud affiliate of Quackwatch. Those who simply can't get enough info on me and my work can check out my Facebook profile or my personal website.
