Jokeren

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jesper Dahl (born June 18, 1973 in Hillerød), better known by the stage name Jokeren (The Joker), is a Danish hip-hop artist and rapper. He has also been a prolific producer and has worked on American hip-hop albums, including one of Ice Cube's, alongside Danish productions.

Jokeren is noted for his use of Danish language in his music despite his strong musical and topical influences from American hip-hop. Even though much of his slang is imported from American origins, his overall linguistic basis is Danish, indicative of a strong desire to ground his music in a Danish fanbase and in Danish youth culture rather than a more general European fanbase which would require a use of English.

In 2006 he played the role of a mad drug dealer in Hella Joof's film Fidibus.
