[edit] Copyright position of Tamil David

Hello Johnson C Philip,

You contributed this article, but you have not linked it to any other articles so it has appeared on the list of dead end pages at Wikipedia:Dead-end pages.

However, I have also discovered the same article on another site - Indus Christian Encyclopedia

where it is marked as:

"This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 License."

I am not a copyright expert, but I don't think Wikipedis can accet an article under such conditions. By making a contribution to Wikipedia you are agreeing to license your contributions uder the GFDL and articles do not contain statement of authorship.

Normally I would report this as an apparent Copyright violation, which might lead to the deletion of the article. However,it would seem that you are one of the origina authors of this essay.

Perhpas you could confirm (on the article's talk page) that you are the original author and that you are licensing it under the GFDL?

If you are not happy to license your work under the GFDL then please let me know and I will see if I can work out the correct way to handle this.

Sincerely Cje 22:15, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

PS You might also like to look at Wikipedia:Boilerplate request for permission which give a less formal description of what you are agreeing to by putting your work into Wikipedia.

[edit] Notability of George Samuel

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on George Samuel, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because George Samuel seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting George Samuel, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
