Issue 3 – March 2007
Issue #3

The third issue of the WP:NJSCR newsletter celebrates the completion of infoboxes for all current state routes. Congratulations team!
Project News
  • All current state routes now have an infobox. Route 183 was selected to represent the project in the header as the last article to receive one.
  • Now that we have that done, what's left? Plenty! A to-do list has been posted on the project page, with a more detailed version at WT:NJSCR#To-do list. The simple version:
    • Ensure that all freeway exit lists are up to exit list guide standards.
    • Make sure all infoboxes have the new maint= parameter.
    • Make sure the straight line diagram is properly referenced in the infobox.
    • Add a major intersections table to each article.
Member of the Month
  • The member of the month is Alansohn, who had the fantastic idea for a "final run-through" and the to-do list.

US 60 Redirect

Please in the future Move an article, rather than copy and pasting and then doing a Redirect, as it completely destroys the edit history of anyone that helped create the article and removes them from the history of that article. Thank you. Cascadia TALK| HISTORY 13:38, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

The mile can be a four to five digit number to be more exact, those are the required columns of WP:IH/ELG. -- JA10 T · C
"If no mileposts exist (are not measured by the state DOT) or that state's department of transportation does not use mileposts more precise than to the nearest mile and the state uses a mileage-based exit numbering system, then this column can be combined with the exit number column. Hi Johnny, I don't live in Pennsylvania but rather in Adelaide, South Australia. I searched for books on the route via google (books search) and library searches. Still the best bet is to get librarians to help as titles and authors still don't tell all. The library of congress is good for searching as it contains a huge amount of information - Peripitus (Talk) 01:35, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Category spelling error

You spelled Category:GA-Class Lehigh Valley articles wrong when you first created it, creating it in article space as Cateogry:GA-Class Lehigh Valley articles. License tagging for Image:Allentown 1900s.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Allentown 1900s.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. You really need to cool it. Even if you were eventually proven right (although just because it was the user's first edit doesn't necessarily mean it was bad faith), starting an AfD discussion with "Speedy keep because it's bad faith" is entirely inappropriate. With regards to NE2's review of "your" article, he was well within his rights to fail it. Good grammar and well written prose is one of the criteria at What is a good article?, and in his humble opinion, this article didn't meet it. I made the same assessment recently on County Route 676 (Middlesex County, New Jersey). Also, per WP:OWN, there's no such thing as "my article" or "your article", so that sort of language should stop. -- NORTH talk 22:23, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

A B-class article is far from nothing, and it deosn't need that much more work to be a GA. And as NE2 pointed out, if you disagree with the assessment, you can always send it to review. I might have a look at the article some more later. However, it would be very useful to have some contemporary newspaper access talking about the road and when US 22 was moved to it.
