[edit] About collaboration

Hello John N!

You left this message at my talk page: "Hi. Would you want to start Projekts in this and the swedisch wiki like de:Wikipedia:WikiProjekt Imperialismus und Weltkriege to coordinate the collaboration? It would be great. :) Regards, John N. 11:12, 16 August 2005 (UTC)"

I looked at your German collaboration project and it looks interesting. I am myself far more involved in the English wikipedia than the Swedish, since I am interested in extending my international collaborations and improving my proficiency in the English language. I would really appreciate if you told me more details about your German project, since I do not fully understand the purpose of it (I read your German introduction - is the objective to make a portal of links, or more?). It would also be interesting to hear how you found me, and why you decided to contact me.

Please leave a message on my talk page, under the section "Collaboration Project". I would appreciate to hear from you.

And, good luck with your German project!

Regards, Dennis Nilsson. Dna-Dennis 09:29, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

Hello again, John N! Thanks for your messages! You left this short question on my talk page: "Do we cooperate?". I would hate to be uncooperative, but I sincerely did not understand what you meant. Please clarify, do you mean

  • If I want to join the German collaboration project?

My answer: No, since my writing in German would be awful and most likely undecodable (Ich bin NICHT ein Berliner!)

  • Do I want to try to start an English collaboration project?

My answer: Maybe, but I think I would need more basic advice from you, like 1: how much effort is needed from a coordinator (f.x. update frequency of the project page) (2) how to start up the project, (3) participant policy: should everyone who wants to join the project be allowed to do so?

I would also like to know if you know of any existing similar collaboration project in English (not WWII)? Please answer here.

Regards, Dennis Nilsson. Dna-Dennis 19:18, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Den Brotheridge

John,

I uploaded a fair image use of Den Brotheridge from a scanned picture. Let me know what you think.

Thanks, Mike --Mmeinhart 00:19, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

U have writen PD-BritishGov and GFDL as Licence. If its Fair use, you have to write "{{Fair Use}}". -- John N. 12:17, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] S1-S6 series of articles

Hi John N. Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. What are your thoughts on trying to merge the S1-S6 series of articles together? There's no problem keeping them as separate articles if you think they can be significantly expanded, but my impression is that someone looking up one of the terms would be interested in the others too, especially since they're all so short right now. Anyhow, just a thought. Happy editing! --Alan Au 20:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Nice idea. But I don't know what the name should be like. S (military), S1-S6 (military) or whatever. Regards, John N. 09:40, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Since all those are standard members of US Army battalion staff, I think the best solution is to write an article on US Army battalion staff / battalion structure. Bukvoed 10:16, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes, nice idea. Could you do it? Regards, John N. 10:24, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately my knowledge of the subject is very limited. So probably not, at least not anytime soon. Bukvoed 10:35, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
Hmm... Same goes for me. -- John N. 11:36, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
