[edit] WebOS etc.

They weren't previously prod'd, initially it went through AFD (as you know since you commented), where the consensus was to delete. You've since recreated it and it has been speedy deleted as a recreation of the properly deleted material. Your recrations although differing to the deleted version slightly didn't address the issues raised by the AFD, reordering stuff, adding links to vaguely connected stuff does not "save" it.

As to your latest merge, I haven't looked but I suspect that this maybe seen as disruption. The article was deleted whilst the others weren't, borrowing the content of those to preserve your article sounds like gaming the system.

Nothing can be proteced from being Prod'd, AFD'd etc. As is it not protected from someone unmerging. We don't work like that. I would suggest the appropriate thing to do in this case would have been to discuss this on the talk pages of the other two articles before proceeding. --pgk 06:34, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry you feel the comment is harsh, you asked the question I gave an answer. The AFD suggested merging this article into others the way I read it, not the other way around. Personally I have no interest in the articles, I was just trying to give you a view on how others may see your actions, for many someone who is apparently determined to get their content accepted no matter what can ring alarm bells, whilst for others it is just showing enthusiasm. Below you are pointed to WP:BOLD which also contains the line "but don't be reckless", my experience tells me that many disputes are often caused by someone being too enthusiastic in a controversial area and not seeking out further input first. (I haven't looked through your contributions to see how much you did do, nor am I that familiar if this particular topic would be controversial, I was gauging from the tone of your question that you believed it maybe problematic, that coupled with your almost immediate recreation after the AFD determined deletion). --pgk 18:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject CS

Hi! Just noticed that you have signed on as a participant in WikiProject Computer science, and wanted to welcome you to the project. Please stop by the project talk page to see what the other participants have on their minds right now, and to add your own thoughts. --Allan McInnes (talk) 02:43, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Allan, thanks for the welcome. I reviewed the project talk page and a few other things... there's a lot of controversy in this neighborhood. I feel a need to stick to the one I'm already in. Please feel free to invite me to harmonious editing sessions. - JohnPritchard 12:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
The CS crowd does seem to be a contentious bunch at times :-) I'm not sure why. But I can understand not wanting to get involved in too many battles at once. Besides, the scope of WPCS is so broad that it's unlikely any one person would have the time or energy to get involved in every argument or controversy... --Allan McInnes (talk) 03:39, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Office 2.0

Office 2.0, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Office 2.0 satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Office 2.0 (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Office 2.0 during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Spartaz Humbug! 23:22, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
