Hello, I would just like to ask how you block users and IP adresses? --MacMad (talk · contribs)  08:49, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

At the top of the user page there is a tab that has "Block" written on it. I hope this is the answer you were looking for. Happy editing! JW..[ T..C ] 00:26, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, It's very easy then. --MacMad (talk · contribs)  05:26, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I would just like to know, if I blocked an IP address for constant vandalism, should I softblock or hardblock? Should I disable account creation for that IP address? --MacMad (talk · contribs)  13:24, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

It depends what kind of IP address it is. If it's AOL, I believe a 24 hour block is good. If it's a static IP, indef blocking them would be ok too (see below). I would only disable account creation for a short while. Normally indef blocking is after several warnings and many, many shorter blocks. (i.e. (Possible welcome instead of first warning, invitation to make an account), first warning, second warning, third warning, 12 hour block, 24 hour block, 1 week, etc. until it gets to indef.) I hope this clarifies things a bit. Happy editing! JW..[ T..C ] 20:18, 3 November 2007 (UTC) (P.S. I don't frequently block IP's, but from my time as a recent changes patroller I've observed these procedures.)
Thank you! --MacMad (talk · contribs)  16:14, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
