John Robinson (born September 11th, 1985) is a young man of great potential. Picked out as "one to watch" at Primary school by his headteacher he excelled through school and moved onto University, at Durham.
Although he has had his share of ups and downs, his childhood was normal. The loss of his grandfather, John W Robinson, in 1991 to cancer was the only loss to his family to date.
[edit] Sporting Achievements
At the age of 7 he joined his first football team; Reebox Dynamo's. Originally playing as a defender, he soon propelled himself to the strikeforce and became the leagues top scorer. He was also part of his school's side that made it to the semi-finals of the Nottinghamshire cup as a major underdog, playing in net. In 1997, however, he quit Reebox and joined Derwent Rangers where he represented his country in an international tournament in Holland. A year later, he quit football all-together and began to play Rugby for his local team, Mansfield.
Away from physical sport, John has always a keen chess player. He represented Nottinghamshire in national events and memorably beat a much higher ranked player from Northamptonshire, albeit in vain as Notts went on to lose. In his last year for Heatherley he was awarded with the North Notts player of the year by winning every match as board #1, beating his Nottinghamshire captain in the process.
[edit] Academic Achievements
Throughout Primary school, he was a class above his age-group and was first reunited with his peers in year 6. He got full marks on his KS2 SATs and moved on to Secondary school. Garibaldi was a different challenge. The level of teaching was below par for the UK and showed in every students grades throughout the years at Garibaldi. KS3 SATs were a brilliant success for John however, and saw him elevated to the top group for every single subject.
GCSEs approached. John passed in 2001 with 10 A*-C grades, failing Design&Technology with an E grade.
