John Atkinson is the writer and publisher for grass-roots publishing company called Windward Books International, based in Toronto, Canada. To date, they have published three books for children, ages 5-10.

They have also created the "fotu" concept, acronym for "friend of the universe". To be a fotu, one must try to be good and honest and fair to all living things.
