Humus, I disagree with the removal of this picture. At most what it needs is a better caption. Clearly it expresses anti-Arab sentiment. Whether it was actually written by the JDL or not, or even by an Arab, or Yuber himself is besides the point. Suppose there was anti-Semitic graffiti in the anti-semitism article, signed Hamas and that it was later shown to be a hoax, perpetrated say by some mentally disturbed rabbi. Would it then not belong in that article? I don't think so, it would be if anything even more notable. Though there are exceptions, I think it is reasonable to assume that anti-Semitic or anti-Arab statements are generally made by anti-Semites and Arab-haters, rather than people just trying to make the other side look bad, or fake the existence of a problem.

Is it really surprising though that one could find such a thing in Hebron? - on all reports there are settlers there with such sentiments and who like to express them. While I was writing this I noted that a book I have, The Alster Files, by a Kahanist, complains how a friend of his was (unjustly IMHO) sentenced to jail for a graffiti of a pig on a wall in Hebron captioned "Mohammed is a pig." I agree, the image makes the JDL look bad, perhaps unjustly - perhaps it was wriiten by an Arab-hater not affiliated with the JDL, or John Doe Longfellow - but to make an encyclopedic addition, you might want to get a statement from the JDL claiming or disclaiming responsibility for this particular graffiti. You could enlarge the caption to cast more doubt on its provenance, hopefully in agreement with 209.176.194.19, who I also suggest should start talking rather than reverting. Neutrality dictates that one do the same in other similar, e.g. anti-Semitic cases. Of course it would be better, one could be surer it was not a hoax if it came say from the New York Times rather than Yuber (I'm pretty sure I've read of anti-Arab Graffiti in Hebron in the NYT or similarly respectable sources), but then it would not be in Wikipedia because of copyright - this is a universal problem on Wikipedia. --John Z 08:04, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
