[edit] Boring details
I was born in 1968 in Montebello. I was raised mostly in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County. I have lived for most of my life in Duarte, one of the smallest incorporated cities in Los Angeles County.
Thanks to Scott Dayman, the first bulletin board system user that I ever met in person, I worked for Spaulding Instruments in 1988. I met my wife Sara there. We got married in 1995, and she gave birth to our daughter Amy in 1998.
(Spaulding Instruments manufactured rotary encoders and seems to have been the birthplace of the shaft position encoder; it was a dying subsidiary of a subsidiary of Parker Hannifin when I worked there, but seems to have been resuscitated and spun off as Applied International Motion.)
I have been involved with computers on a hobbyist level since 1980 and on a professional level since 1988. I've been a true IT professional since 1995. Right now I'm the Information Technology Coordinator for Verbum Dei High School, one of the Catholic high schools in Los Angeles, California. My primary duties are system administration, network administration, technical support and information technology help desk.
I'm a rabid fan of music, particularly of classic rock and album-oriented rock of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and those hard rock and heavy metal artists that grew out of or were inspired by that music. I'm a relative fountain of knowledge about pop music of the rock music era (1955 to present). (I don't know it all, but what I don't know I can usually find out quickly; so can you.)
I've been an amateur genealogist since 1995, having been recruited by one of my father's second cousins. You can find out more about my genealogical research here.
Martin Atencio, who has been my friend longer than any other person, began trying to convert me to Roman Catholicism in 1998, and finally succeeded in autumn 2001. I began the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) in late September 2002 but sadly dropped out on January 27, 2003 because of threatening circumstances; I re-entered in October 2007 and expect to celebrate my sacraments on Holy Saturday in 2008. Amy was baptized into the Catholic faith on Mother's Day, 2003 and celebrated her first Holy Communion on May 6, 2006.

You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.
