[edit] Expansion of article

Expanding this article simply by stating things easily found at the Web site (what buildings are present and who the vice-presidents are) does not meet the goals of an encyclopedia article. Is there significant history that can be developed into this article? That would mold it into a much more useful entry. Look at Lipscomb University as an example. JesseStu 07:23, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Jesse, I will try to clean up this page a bit. I added the info box, but plan on some small changes soon. Joeraybray 07:25, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Point of view regarding preaching programme

Whether the preaching programme at Johnson is, or should be, the most important is a POV issue. Arlogut made a change which challenged the relative importance of the preaching programme while contending that there are other programmes which have become more important. Orlady reverted that change. Neither edit was backed up with any references. If the programme is the most important at Johnson, this is according to what source?

Some of this is POV, and some is not (for example, the college itself might feel that the preaching programme is the most important, and the article could be changed to reflect that if there is a source) but it would still have to be reported as something like, "The college's official position is that the preaching programme is the most important programme, but the stength of other programmes indicates . . ." and so on, with the required facts being backed up with source. Otherwise, this is just personal opinion or unfiltered (and therefore biased) information from the college's website. A Wikipedia article should have a neutral point of view; please provide verifiable sources for material. Xantharius 19:24, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

  • I have no idea whether the preaching program is "important," and I don't care. (I have no information and even less opinion on the matter.) I reverted Arlogut's edit because the sentence "Although preaching should be the most important major at JBC, others have taken the lead" sounded to me like pure opinion, and it did not make any sense (who or what are "others" and in what context do they lead?). The whole article needs sources.--orlady 19:42, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
This has been changed to reflect a more neutral point of view, but it still needs citations as some of the information is unreferenced. Xantharius 16:48, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

I changed the statment regarding the POV problem with the preaching program. The intent of the statement is still there, but it now cites the college's mission statment. Perhaps this is something that could be added to the infobox? Please feel free to correct for grammer. Joeraybray 02:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Order of sections

I changed the order of some of the sections to reflect their relative importance. I also added a reference for the Bible major. Xantharius 16:48, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Photo's in Gallery

The individual pictures in a gallery have been moved there for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is it throws off the lines between the sections.

I have had several of my articles questioned when i do that and for those articles, i decided to use the gallery and it was cleaned up.

You are more than welcome to edit it, just try to keep the pictures confined within the section somehow.

[edit] PW Pond

If I am not mistaken there is a natural pond behind the GETC.
