Talk:Johnny Temple
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm pretty sure there's a blues singer named Johnny Temple too... I don't know anything about him, but another article and a disambiguation page might be in order here. I'll see what I can find out about the singer. Guypersonson 13:13, 6 January 2006 (UTC) You are right, Johnny Temple (1906-1968) was a blues singer and guitarist who recorded in the 30's for the Decca Label,in the 40's for Bluebird and King Records. He was accompanied by pianists Joshua Altheimer and Sammy Price, by guitarists Big Bill Broonzy and Lonnie Johnson and jazz musicians like the Harlem Hamfits for example. In the 50's he did not record but played club gigs in Chicago with Walter Horton and Billy Boy Arnold. In the mid-fifties he owned his own club in Chicago before returning to Jackson, Miss. in the mid-sixties. He died of cancer.
