Is there a reason why this gentlemen is given a page on Wikipedia? It appears that he did not do anything to warrant this status. Additionally, this article reads more like an obituary more than anything else, and memorials are something which Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. I'll also note that this article was up for speedy deletion for this same reason, and nothing appeared to come of it. It appears the article's original author simply deleted the notice. No discussion history. Full disclosure: my name is also John Whittet. Basseq 02:46, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
