[edit] Birth Date

Since there is no information supporting the birth date of 29 February 1840, and because the biography of John Holland that is linked suggests a birth date of 24 Feb 1841, I have changed the date and removed the category "Category:Leap day births|Holland, John Philip". If there is support for the leap day birth, we can put it back.Dpv 14:19, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] "african American" edit

Maybe the guy misinterpreted the term Black Irish. Gzuckier 17:11, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Other developments

Can somebody clarify the dating of Holland II & III? As I recall, they predate Adder (which was Holland VI or VII, I think). Also, something should be said about his rivalry (or the competition) with Simon Lake. Trekphiler 08:02, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Farsical?

"including a farcical experience with the U.S. Navy" is the sort of statement that cries out for explanation and/or a reference. -- Kbh3rd 22:34, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
