[edit] Cleanup

Unless someone states why they think this needs cleanup, I think it can be taken down. --UVnet 06:46, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree! I think a) that this page is fine and b) that Mr. Shanley's "Joe vs. the Volcano" was a wonderful movie. --mvsopen 09:57, 14 April 2006 (PDT)

I didn't put the cleanup message up, but this article does need some serious help. The final paragraph of the body of the article has been thrown in and is unsourced. Quite a few more details could be added and a number of awards he has won are not mentioned. The titles should all be italicized as well. I'll try to clean it up later on today if I have time. *Exeunt* Ganymead | Dialogue? 15:14, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
It'd also be nice if the two lists were in the same chronological order, although I admit there's kind of a neat sense of traveling backwards through time and then back up to the present the way it's currently laid out...--NapoliRoma (talk) 19:39, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Personal bio

In his creative bio for Doubt, Shanley writes: JOHN PATRICK SHANLEY (Playwright). John Patrick Shanley is from the Bronx. He was thrown out of St. Helena 's kindergarten. He was banned from St. Anthony's hot lunch program for life. He was expelled from Cardinal Spellman High School. He was placed on academic probation by New York University and instructed to appear before a tribunal if he wished to return. When asked why he had been treated in this way by all these institutions, he burst into tears and said he had no idea. Then he went in the United States Marine Corps. He did fine. He's still doing okay. Mr. Shanley is interested in your reactions.
