[edit] Documentary
Out of interest i Just saw a documentary with David Reimer and his brother in it. David quite clearly commented on "getting into sexual positions with his brother" when he was seven, and David commented that it seemed "sick" to him looking back on it - that Dr Money would do this. Would it be slanderous to print what David has said somewhere or another? I can't remember the name of the doco actually - but it recently aired in NZ. Cheers nic Nic 00:25, 12 June 2007 (NZ time)
- It's not slanderous if it is attributed properly to Reimer. If you can find the name of the documentary please post it. Joie de Vivre 12:31, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just found this article randomly - it's probably "Dr Money and the Boy with No Penis" from the BBC TV series Horizon. Here's the transcript. Graham87 09:27, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Dr. Money was a sick individual who has been treated as a hero. Was there not a law against this back in the 60s. I'm also surprised at the parents. Maybe they meant well but what a bad judgement. Please tell me there is some kind of law in affect today that keeps a parent or parents and a Doctor from doing this to a child. David's life was ruined by this chain of events and what's more is the Dr. kept promulgating that his research was correct. This was slipshod research. Dr. Money decided before hand what he wanted the conclusion to be and did everything in his power to twist the facts to fit with his desired conclusion. His student Dr. Green is just as guilty as he has played a fantastic "cover up" for his friend. Dr. Money was wrong and it is evident by watching his interviews that he was playing cover up to save his precious research, including endeavoring to continue to manipulate "Brenda" and Brian. This man was not a hero, he was a predator, he preyed on Brian not for sexual gratification but to give validity to his hypotheses. He was no doctor, he was a quack and ought to be remembered as such. Instead of winning a medal, Dr. Money should have been punished for ruining the lives of this family.
