nice way to sanitize the article, erase everything that might be considered 'negative', and whitewash historical fact.
thank god for 'past versions' being kept by wikipedia.
This is merely an interesting personal note in regard to Dr. McAfee. Around 1985/86 I owned a computer store in San Jose. McAfee contacted me to purchase a 2400 baud modem and asked if I would take payments on it since he was a bit strapped for cash. I agreed and after speaking a while about this "virus" project he was working on I became intrigued by his work. He mentioned that he didn't have a car so I agreed to deliver the modem personally. I was interested in meeting this fellow from England with the odd "hobby". I arrived at his little ramshackle house and when invited inside I found it to be clutted with bits and pieces of computer equipment of various generations. He was a wild haired fellow in his late 30's with a pleasant personality. He certainly has come a long ways from that little house. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.255.214.71 (talk) 21:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
